Current features

I’m looking to fully replace my Jaguar XF 2012 touchscreen with the PiMost which I’ve already purchased but just not had the time to use until now.

Just want to understand it’s current features / limitations as I’m aware it’s still a development board.

Main queries;

  1. If replacing the OEM screen with a RPi, touchscreen and PiMost, do any other units have to be disconnected from the Jag (e.g. on the MOST network). From memory there was an issue with another unit taking control of CANBUS/MOST and any toggled settings on the RPi get overruled by this other unit.

  2. Will Bluetooth phone calls still work? Would it use the Jaguar Bluetooth control module and inbuild car microphone? Believe the Dialer and Contacts would be accessible via CarPlay.

  3. Which settings can be modified and are working e.g. fan control open/close on climate on, turning on heated seats and controlling which seat/heat setting (1/2/3), alarm double locking options and mirror folding, etc

  4. Can we still get and clear dash warnings? E.g. low fuel warning, low washer fluid, etc? I think these may be controlled/shown on the actual driver dash behind the wheel but can we clear these from the RPi & PiMost?

  5. Same as point 4 but for important faults/fault codes; e.g. restricted performance, low oil, etc

  6. There are multiple repositories on Rhys’ Github; which is best one for Jaguar MOST and CANBus? There are multiple versions of the CarPlay app; do we choose React/React-js/Node

  7. Have we got a wiring diagram for the rear sockets on the oem touchscreen; battery pos/neg, ignition, canbus hi/low. I’ve got a JAE MX3400 series 16 connector and terminal (MX34016SF1) - so looking to use it to test the existing car wiring and spare touchscreen I have.

Thank you for your time reading my post - any information would be greatly appreciated. I’d like to get some of this nailed down before ripping my dash out to install the touchscreen and cables :slight_smile:

Once again I do understand this is a development board and understand there may be quite a long way still to go before it’s close to a drop-in replacement. I greatly appreciate all the work done by Rhys and the community.
